From 1 December 2014 new legislation on Shared Parental Leave came into force for the parents of babies due/or children matched/placed for adoption on or after 5 April 2015. Shared Parental Leave is a new right that will enable eligible mothers, fathers, partners and adopters to choose how to share time off work after their child is born or placed. More information on this can be found here. The University of Edinburgh has developed a shared parental leave policy in line with this new legislation.
